Breastfeeding Your Baby (National Childbirth Trust Guide)
Published in Paperback by Perseus Publishing (February, 1997)
Authors: Hannah Lothrop, Jane Moody, Jane Britten, and Karen Hogg

Real life stories you can relate to
This is one of many breastfeeding books I read when I had my first child. What was great about this book were the stories of diffent women's experiences with breastfeeding. It answers so many question about the beast feeding experience and validates many feelings. From problems with latching on, sore breasts, how often to expect to nurse--this book covers everything in little stories. Unfortunately I let a friend borrow my copy and haven't seen it since. I guess she enjoyed it. The book is also not overly fanatic about breast feeding. It doesn't make you feel as if you are a horrible mother if breastfeeding turns out not to be for you. I truly believe that breastfeeding is the best thing you can do for your baby, from a nutritional standpoint as well as an emotional one. I was able to nurse my daughter for the first 18 months of her life, and I credit that to all of the support from the hospital as well as books like this one. I highly recommend this book.

The Budget Personal Trainer Program and Workbook
Published in Spiral-bound by Karen Moody (27 March, 2000)
Author: Karen Moody
Average review score:

Karen's program REALLY works! Here's my experience...
Karen has outlined in her book her physical fitness program, of which I am a testimony that it works. I have lost 125 pounds following her work-out regimen and following a sensible diet that was no more than 1300 calories/20 grams of fat a day...plus a maximum of two "free" meals a week in which I could eat out with friends.

The Cliff Birds: A Story of Hope
Published in Hardcover by Recovery Communications (April, 2000)
Author: Miles A. Moody
Average review score:

A wonderful book with an amazing story of hope and love
An amazing story that beautifully illustrates the terrifying moment when we have to face the deepest fears we hold inside ourselves, grasp the hand of God, and step through.... The book's unique characters tell a story that reminds me of my own journey: a time when I realized that I was a living a life that was quickly killing me, knowing I needed to make major changes in my life, but absolutely terrified of living a life completely different from what I have always known. But like the hero of the story, Sweeny, I realized that I was being guided down this path, by people who would show up and help me at just the right moment, and by other little "coincidences" that reminded me that God was with me every step of the way and that I would be okay. God was always ready to help me, but he wouldn't do for me what I had to do for myself. And that was to be willing to face my deepest fears and walk through them. I cannot think of a better way to relate that experience to a child than through this story. I highly recommend it to anyone, at any age, who has ever had to face a major change in their life, or is preparing to do so. Read this book and remember that God always stands ready to help us to become a better person and no challenge is impossible when we have His help.

Embracing nonviolence as a code of conduct
Code 3-M: Third Millennium Road Map For Peace by John Moody Presley is a deftly written novel that seeks to understand why the curse of war has been perpetuated, and how best to promote peace and harmony. Half story, half philosophy, Code 3-M is powerful, original, highly recommended reading about embracing nonviolence as a code of conduct and a way of life.

The D.L. Moody Collection: The Highlights of His Writings, Sermons, Anecdotes, and Life Story
Published in Hardcover by Moody Publishers (January, 1998)
Authors: Dwight Lyman Moody and James S. Bell
Average review score:

A Must to Have
I am so glad that the Lord led me to this book at this time in my life. This book is a must for a person who loves the Lord and His work. The book shows ways that Moody prepared sermons after he had been inspired on things to say. The book inspired me to see how the Lord's work can be spread even though we don't travel a great distance and are not eloquent speakers. The Lord uses us anyway.

This reading is essential. John 14

Danger on the Flying Trapeze (Trailblazer Books)
Published in Paperback by Bethany House (April, 1995)
Authors: Dave Jackson, Neta Jackson, and Julian Jackson
Average review score:

Highly recommended!
This book is part of the Trailblazer Series, in which young people of the period (and as such your young reader) meet Christian heroes of the past. In this book, fourteen-year-old Casey Watkins grows tired of living under the thumb of his self-righteous uncle, and finds jobs for himself and his widowed mother with Forepaugh's Circus. While the circus tours the country, headed for Chicago and the Columbia Exposition of 1893, Casey is able to join the trapeze act. Arriving in Chicago, Casey meets that dynamic evangelist, Dwight Lyman Moody. Casey is fascinated by Moody, and when he panics during a trapeze act, and loses his confidence, he finds himself turning to Moody, and God.

This is a very nice book. I was fascinated by the Jacksons' characterization of D.L. Moody, and enjoyed the story immensely. My nine-year-old son also enjoyed the book, and we both highly recommend it to you!

Ride or Research?
If Ms. Forster didn't actually ride, she did a great job on research. I do ride and I felt like I was there at every turn. The characters and feelings were vivid and her ending was just as I hoped it would be.

The Dry Divide

Authors: Ralph Moody and Tran Mawicke
Average review score:

Ralph Moody is to print what Garrison Keillor is to radio...
I first read Mr. Moody's books as a child and then re-read them as an adult. They had lost none of their attraction. He is like the person we all know that can tell a story that captivates and entertains.... This review extends to all of Mr. Moody's autobiographical books; they all fit together in a series.
